International Convention Center, Jerusalem, Israel
Located at the west entrance of Jerusalem, Ussishkin Hall, a landmark assembly hall, sits proudly in the heart of the site and in the center of the new commercial district. Dug into the rock and set below the entrance piazza’s, the glass covered exposition pre-function and retail arcade serve as an extension of the urban street. The mixed use, urban planning design preserves Ussishkin Hall and incorporates it into a new, state of the art international exposition, convention and meeting center. Organized around main circulation axes the dense, urban fabric extends into the site to include a shopping center, 30 story office towers and hotel.
