Dan Maintenance Center
The project goals was to consolidate various satellite, bus maintenance facilities into one new modern hub of operation. In addition Dan the client required a 600-700 bus parking for half of its bus fleet. It was important for us to find a solution that maximizes the use of natural light and ventilation for the more than 500 employees working in the maintanence garages, workshops and service spaces. The design solution locates the maintenance facilities on top of a 2 level bus parking garage allowing people to experience natural light and ventilation. Using industrial materials of corrugated envelopes the 3 structures take on curved wavy forms softening the skyline.
The project includes workshops, main parts storage, 90 maintenance bays, offices, cafeteria and other service and mechanical spaces over a 600 bus parking structure.
